Uganda - Vocational Training
Uganda, like many central African countries, has its own share of economic challenges. With a population just over 40 million people, 72% are involved in agriculture for their livelihood -- that is approximately 30 million people.
Our vocational training program, sited on an 18-acre property we own, is geared toward training young men and women to plant crops, farm the land, conduct animal husbandry, and use modern methods for all such agrarian work.
The property we have is well utilized but sits relatively unprotected from trespassers and is the target of thievery. A fence has been constructed, but now must be "hardened". Recently, in addition to some petty theft, solar panels used to power our freshwater well pump were stolen and the well pump is not functioning. We have made "hardening" of the fence a priority and the approximate cost is $45,000 USD.
How can you help the people of Uganda today?
